Wet or oil shear, clutch and brake unit for mechanical press

A support anchors the unit (36) to a rotatable press member. An input mechanism receives rotary motion from the press flywheel (32) and rotates relative to the support (60). A selectively operable actuator plate (50) clutch transmits this rotation to an output mechanism which transfers this rotary motion to a press shaft (38). Selectively operable interleaved friction disks prohibit rotation to the output mechanism to stop shaft rotation. An oil filled flywheel bearing drains oil into the unit.
