A ball pouch (4) has a hollow defined by walls (14A, 14B) comprising a plurality of linked cells (16) packed with a heat storage medium (18). The medium (18) is a mix including phase change material (PCM) having a phase change temperature within the preferred range of 130-150 DEG F. Preferably the PCM mix is in free-flowing powder or gel form, and includes paraffin, ultra fine silica, and an ingredient to convert microwaves, as from a microwave oven, into heat. The pouch (4) is charged by heat soaking it, preferably in a microwave oven, until the PCM has fully absorbed its latent heat of fusion. The ball pouch (4) can be packed with a plurality of golf balls (22) where they can be enclosed and secured by a flap (8) which is preferably an unquilted extension of one of the walls (14B) and releasable fasteners (20A, 20B). Once charged the pouch (4) heats golf balls (22) contained therein to a desired temperature above ambient and keeps them well above ambient for more time than it takes to play a round of golf.
