A filter head appliance (16) has a filter head (24), an electric pump (26) and a filter cartridge (28). The filter head has a mounting clip (30) with an integral pump casing (32) and a flow outlet network (34). The mounting clip has two fastening holes (36) for attaching the filter head to a vehicle's framework. The appliance has an electronic control unit for controlling the pump.
