The lighting chain has several light units (24), each with a light source (1) and holder which can be reversibly attached to the object with an attachment unit, and a cable that supplies the light units with current, esp. a two-wire braid cable. Each light unit has a holder unit (5) and a contact unit (7) for making a reversible electrical connection with the cable (15).
