The invention relates to a method for producing segmented contact adhesive layers and for applying the same on a substrate by using a reaction medium containing a polymerizate which can be radiation-induced and/or containing prepolymers of olefinically unsaturated compounds while adding a photoinitiator. The inventive method is characterized by the following steps: The reaction medium is held ready in a dosing and filling station (1) while being seal off from oxygen; the empty templates (10) are guided in succession with an applied lower covering (11) of the passage (18) thereof, said passage determining the segments, to a filling station (1) in a timed manner, and are filled with a dosable quantity of reaction medium in said filling station; the filled templates (10) are continuously transported under a UV section (A) and, in doing so, the reaction medium is hardened by means of a radiation-induced reaction while undergoing an at least partial polymerization; after removing the lower covering (11) during additional transport between an upper (A) and a lower UV section (B), the reaction medium which is then exposed on the top and bottom thereof is fully hardened from above and from below by a continued polymerization reaction which can be radiation-induced in order to produce the contact adhesive layer (13); the template (19) containing the produced contact adhesive layer (13) is transported to a transfer station (3), and the contact adhesive layer (13) is pressed out of the template (10) and applied to a substrate (12) inside said transfer station.
