Catalyst for reducing metal oxides

Process for reducing a metal oxide comprises calcining a precious metal catalyst and metal oxide. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a coating for a component (1) having a base material with a heat insulating layer (3), and an adhesive layer (2) arranged between the base material and insulating layer; and (B) a process for improving the oxidation resistance of a material comprising coating an adhesive layer (2) with a precious metal layer (2a) and diffusion calcining to form an intermediate product, and then forming an aluminum coating (2b) on the adhesive coating (2) of the intermediate product and diffusion calcining.
