<p>The system comprises at least one flap (5,6) with its rear end pivoted in relation to the engine, with drives (9) to turn the flaps about their pivots, and a mechanism to shift the pivots axially. The forward ends of the flaps have radial stops (16) which cooperate with matching elements on the engine (1) and are designed to prevent deployment of the flaps while the flap's pivots are in their forward position. The distance between the forward and rear positions of the flaps' pivots is between 1 and 2 per cent of the motor's outlet diameter, and the axial movement mechanism for the pivots is in the form of guides and sliders.</p> |
