<p>The invention relates to a process for the preparation of (±)-4-(S,R)- [(3,4-dichlorophenyl) -3,4-dihydro-1(2H) -naphthalene-1-ylidene] -methylamine of Formula (I) by reacting 4-(3,4-dichlorophenyl) -3,4-dihydro-1(2H) -naphthalene-1-one of Formula (II) with methyl amine which comprises carrying out the reaction in the absence of a dehydrating agent, in a lower alkanol. The compound of Formula (I) is a useful pharmaceutical intermediate.</p> |
