<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the capability of sludge precipitation by depositing powdered grains to the sludge through the addition of easy-to-deposite powdered grains to active sludge. CONSTITUTION:Powdered grains covered with hydrophobic material such as pitch grains, resin, and pitch is added to active sludge. Such powdered grains combine with functional gp. of part of the active sludge surface to the effect that when microbes combined with the hydrophobic material have come to the end of their life, newly growing microbes are allowed to combine with the hydrophobic material. As a result, once pitch powdered grains and hydrophobic powdered grains are added, frequent replenishment is unnecessary as long as the active sludge is not taken out.</p> |
