SLIDING FLIPPER DOOR

A flipper door mechanism for allowing a door to be moved from a closed position to an open position and having a frame with a hem, wherein the frame defines an interior space, and a door having a guide with a slot. The mechanism further includes a movement device attached to the frame and the door that has a pivoting device to allow the door to be pivoted from the closed position to the open position and a sliding device that allows the door at the open position to translationally move relative to the frame to a retracted position exclusive of the interior space. At the open position, the hem is inserted into the slot so as to guide the door during the translational movement.
