摘要 PURPOSE:To shorten the precharge time when image formation mode is switched to normal image mode by continuing the ON of a transfer device for a prescribed time after the final transfer process in reversed image formation is ended. CONSTITUTION:In an image forming device for developing an electrostatic latent image to form either one of normal image and reversed image, and precharging after polarity switching, a transfer device 18 is continuously ON for a prescribed time after the final transfer process in reversed image formation is ended to apply a transfer voltage to a photoreceptor drum 12. Thus, the influence by the charged charge of reversed image mode is minimized when image formation mode is switched to normal image mode. When the period of continuing the ON of the transfer device 18 is changed according to the number of reversed image forming pieces, there is no need to lay the transfer device 18 in the ON-state longer than it requires. Although a main motor, a static eliminating lamp 24, a developing bias, and the transfer device 18 are ON after the mode is set to the normal image mode, and precharge is successively conducted for a prescribed time, the precharge time may be short because the transfer device 18 is ON for the prescribed time after ending the print in the reversed image mode.
