In a process to make corn flakes in a drier-drum (10), hot gases, especially steam at 200 to 300 <0>C, flow through the corn grains within the rotating drum. After the corn has been cooked, the grains remain within the rotating drum while a further hot dry gas passes through the drum for between 10 to 30 minutes, absorbing the remaining steam until the required humidity or moisture level is reached. |
