PURPOSE:To eliminate trouble such as the fixation of toner powder and to perform excellent development, by providing a developing powder carrier, a means of regulating the amount of developing powder supplied to the developing powder carrier, and a toner breaking-away means. CONSTITUTION:Developing device 4 has developer carrier 4a, which forms a toner particle picture according to an electrostatic image on photoreceptor 1. When electric latent image holder 1 moves as shown by the arrow, insulating magnetic developer 11 is applied onto the surface of cylindrical sleeve 4b and the toner particles are charged by the friction between the sleeve surface and the toner particles. Further, arranging doctor plate 10 closely to the sleeve surface regulates the thickness of the toner layer thinly and evenly. On the other hand, the remaining toner which is not used for the development is removed from cylindrical sleeve 4b by toner breaking- away means 13 and excellent development is carried out. |
