The transmit signal is propagated by a radio transmitter, and the radiating power at the start of the transmit signal is raised to a preset power along a preset characteristic, and for the transmit signal end the preset power is reduced along the preset characteristic. The power amplification is correspondingly controlled by a regulating signal. For the rising and falling edge of the control signal is used as a reference control signal, and the regulating control signal is limited to a preset maximum control signal value. Preferably the reference and maximum control signal values are compared for control signal limiting to the maximum value.
