PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve strength and toughness of an aluminum nitride-based sintered compact. SOLUTION: This aluminum nitride-based sintered compact comprises aluminum nitride powder and 0.1-30 wt.% total amount of one or more kinds of compounds selected from oxides of group IIIa elements of the periodic table and one or more kinds of compounds selected from carbonates of group IIa elements, 0.1-30 wt.% one or more kinds of compounds selected from nitrides, carbides, silicates and borides of Si, group IVa elements, group Va elements and group VIa elements and further 0.1-5 wt.% one or more kinds of compounds selected from oxides of group VIa elements. |
