<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a resin composition for improving the impact resistance of the subject blend manifest excellent melt flow characteristics by melt mixing a polyphenylene ether resin with polycarboxylic acids, a specific elastomer and a polyamide. SOLUTION: (A) A polyphenylene ether resin in an amount of 5-50 wt.% is melt mixed with (B) 0.8-1.2 wt.% of a nonpolymeric aliphatic polycarboxylic acid (derivative) [e.g. citric acid (hydrate)], (C) 2-15 wt.% of an elastomer-based block copolymer which is a di- or a triblock copolymer of a polyarylene block and a (n) (un) saturated rubber block and (D) 5-93 wt.% of a polyamide and, as necessary, further 0-86 wt.% of the component D and the total amount of the component D is regulated to 35-93 wt.%.</p> |
