PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pick up an X-ray transmission image or the like with an optimum amount of exposure in a device for picking up the image using a radiation face sensor. SOLUTION: The monitoring image picking up of a small dose is made before actual image pickup, the optimum image pick-up conditions of the actual image pickup, namely a radiation application period or the tube current value of a radiation generator 1, are calculated by an operation part 9, for example a radiation application stop signal is sent to the radiation generator 1 or a control circuit 7, based on the operation result or the tube current value is sent to the radiation generator 1, thus always picking up the image of optimum amount of exposure.
