PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of unwanted combustion of fuel gas and air on a catalyst by forming a first adhesive groove facing the edge of an air electrode in the periphery of a first part of a casing, forming an air inlet groove in a first side, and forming an air outlet groove in a second side. SOLUTION: In a connector plate 20, an adhesive is applied to parts corresponding to adhesive grooves 54, 64, and a fuel cell main body 10 is placed thereon. The fuel cell main body 10 is forced to interpose between the first connector plate 20 and a second connector plate, and thereby the adhesive covers the edge of an air electrode 13 to prevent the exposure of a catalyst. Direct contact of exposed catalyst with air is prevented, and combustion of fuel gas and air above the catalyst can be prevented. The part overflowed from the groove of the adhesive applied to the adhesive grooves 54, 64 escapes into liberating spaces 56, 66 respectively over fitting plates 53, 63, and housed in the spaces 56, 66. The penetration of the adhesive into an air inlet or an air outlet will not occur. |
