PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve luminous efficiency, luminance and discharge efficiency of a panel by providing a transparent electrode formed from one flat electrode and a bus electrode formed on the transparent electrode for a second display electrode. SOLUTION: For a front substrate 3, a transparent SiO bedding film 7 and a transparent ITO film electrode 8 are formed on a transparent glass substrate 6 and additionally, bus electrodes 9 (9-1, 9-2) having small resistivity is formed on the transparent electrode 8. A flat electrode group is composed of the bus electrodes 9 and the transparent electrode 8, and a common display electrode (X electrode) 10 is formed as an electrode for a display cell 2. In addition, the bus electrodes 9 are formed from a thick film conductor such as an Ag group or the like. Then, discharge is executed between the X electrode (second display electrode) 10 and a first display electrode 17 addressed by the use of an addressing electrode 15. In this case, since the gap length in the display electrode surfaces is constant even if wall charge is formed between both the display electrodes, stable and constant discharge current can be maintained (current density is constant). |
