PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved process for ammoxidation from a paraffin into an unsaturated mononitrile and corresponding monoolefin. SOLUTION: This process is to synthesize acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile by a catalytic reaction of a paraffin selected from between propane and isobutane in the vapor phase according to a catalytic contact of a catalyst with a reactional component in a reactional zone of oxygen molecules with ammonia. The feed composition has a molar ratio of the paraffin to the ammonia within the range of about 2.5-16 and a molar ratio of the paraffin to the oxygen within the range of about 1.0-10. The catalyst contains elements in a ratio represented by the empirical formula VSbm Aa Mob Dd Ox [A is one or more kinds of Ti, Sn, Fe, Cr and Ga; D is one or more kinds of Li, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Co, Ni, Zn, Ge, Nb, Zr, W, Cu, The, Ta, Se, Bi, Ce, In, As, B and Mn; (m) is 0.8-4; (a) is 0.01-2; 0<(b)<0.005; (d) is 0-2; (x) is determined by the oxidation states of the existing cations] and the catalyst is heat-treated at a temperature of at least 780 deg.C. |
