SOLUTION: In an article storage management system provided with a carrying means TP for carrying a container for housing articles between a reception section K and a shelf R and a managing means for managing the articles by executing the carrying operation of the carrying means TP while managing the identification data of the articles, an instructing means for instructing the work of the managing means is provided to instruct a arranging mode for rearranging the container delivered once to the reception section K within a set period to a housing position where delivery to the reception section K is shorter in time than a container not delivered the reception section K at all, and the managing means controls the carrying operation of the carrying means TP such that following the instruction of the rearranging mode, the container delivered to the reception section K once is rearranged in the housing position where delivery to the reception section K is carried out within a time shorter than that for the container not delivered to the reception section K at all.
