PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain excellent dispersion property of ink, excellent density gradation, high printing durability, and a sharp printed image by a method wherein a gravure printing plate comprises a metal film which is formed on the surface of a plate base material so that the plate base material and the film thickness may become equal to the depth of a cell, and a rigid film which is formed on the surface of the metal film and can be burnt by laser. SOLUTION: A metal film 2 is formed in a manner to have a thickness of 10-15μm on a backing material, and the depth of a cell 4 is ensured. When the metal film is copper-plated, after plating a metal wherein the forming of an amorphous diamond film is favorable onto the metal film 2 by a thickness of 1-2μm, the amorphous diamond film is formed. For the forming of the cell, a rigid film 3 is irradiated with laser, and one part of the rigid film 3 is removed so that the gravure image may be formed, and after removing the exposed metal coating film on the outside by etching, an etching with a different etching liquid is performed on the metal film 2, and the metal film 2 is removed. The rigid film 3 such as the amorphous diamond film is hard, and the surface is smooth and has a lubricity, the printing durability is large, and the rigid film 3 is suitable for a plate face.
