PURPOSE:To reduce additional elements to shorten the transmission time of gradation processing picture information, by performing the transmission in a G2 mode in case of the gradation processing transmission in facsimile having a G3 mode and the G2 mode. CONSTITUTION:When a switch S1 on an operation panel OPP is designated to the half tone, a half tone designating signal becomes logical 0. A system control SCU recognizes this signal to transmit a half tone designating signal (d) to a video processor VPU, and analog picture information from a scanner is made binary and is stored in a read/write buffer RWB. Meanwhile, in a data compression reproducing device DCR, the half tone designating signal becomes logical 0, and the mode is switched to a noncompression G2 mode, and picture information read out from the read/write buffer RWB is transmitted to a telephone line through a data switch DSU. |
