<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst carrier capable of keeping high catalytic activity for a long term. SOLUTION: A catalyst carrier consists of a polymer having a repeating unit represented by the formula. In the formula, R represents a divalent hydrocarbon group, for example, a 1,4-phenylene group, a hexamethylene group or the like. A metal complex having a long catalyst life and excellent heat resistance can be obtained by coordinating a metal compound such as cupric chloride to a bipyridyl part. Especially, the corrosion of a reaction apparatus caused by halide ions can be greatly decreased, even if the metal compound is a metal halide.</p> |
