PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone system capable of improving convenience omitting the time and labor of a user as much as possible and securing security in the PIN (personal identity number) collation at the time of starting power supply. SOLUTION: As the result of the manual collation (S270) of a PIN for collating the PIN inputted by the user through an operation part and the PIN stored inside a card, when a collated result is OK (S290: YES), the PIN is registered. Then, the power supply by the operation of a power source switch is started (S260: YES), and in the case that an automatic collation flag is 1 by the judgement of S280 or in the case that the power supply is restored after power supply instantaneous break generation (S260: NO), automatic PIN collation (S300) using the registered PIN is executed. When the collated result is OK (S320: YES), after the PIN is registered (S330), activation is performed in a card utilization permission mode (S340).
