PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device capable of housing within a battery and making small by forming an electric circuit on a thin plate made of a brittle material, breaking the thin plate by means of a pressure difference between both sides of the thin plate to cut the electric circuit, and breaking the current flow. SOLUTION: A thin plate 20 is fixed to a container 10 having a recess 10a in the central part, so as to cover the recess 10a. The thin plate 20 is made of a brittle material such as ceramics, an electric circuit 30 is formed on the thin plate 20 by thick film printing for example, and electrodes 40, 40 are brazed to the electric circuit 30. The recess 10a is sealed with the thin plate 20 to form a reference pressure chamber 50, and one surface of the thin plate 20 is faced to the reference pressure chamber 50. The pressure on the other surface is increased by overcharge for example and becomes different from the pressure of the reference pressure chamber 50, and when the pressure difference exceeds the specified value, the thin plate 20 is broken to cut the electric circuit 30. |
