<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition, of which a connecting sleeve used for the intermediate joining or terminal joining of a power cable is made and which shows a low hardness and a high tensile elongation before installation, in order to obtain a large diameter expansion factor, is hard to be torn in a diameter expansion state and in an expanded diameter maintaining state, and furthermore, shows a low permanent elongation after installation for keeping a surface tight contact force. SOLUTION: A connecting sleeve is rubber composition which contains, for 100 wt.pt. of ethylene propylene diene multiplement copolymer(EPDM) (a), 50-120 wt.pts. of baked clay (b), 20-50 wt.pts. of process oil (c), 2-4 wt.pts. of dicumile peroxide (d), 0.1-1.0 wt.pts. of sulfur (e) and 0.5-3.0 wt.pts. of N-N'-m-phenylene bismaleimide (f) or rubber composition, which contains 60-100 wt.pts. of carbon (g) instead of baked clay.</p> |
