PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a step-eliminating airbag device which is actuated to eliminate steps in a building for the convenience of wheelchair users when they move. SOLUTION: A step-eliminating airbag device 8 comprises an air pump, a bellows-shaped air bag 28 for which air is supplied and exhausted by the air pump, and which has a stand 29 formed on its top to place a wheelchair, a handrail 30 attached on the stand, and a controller 13 causing the supply and exhaust of air to and from the bellows-shaped airbag. In this case, the airbag is installed on the lower part of a stepped floor face and a wheelchair user on the stand can move vertically by operating the controller to supply air to cause expansion of the bellows-shaped airbag to move from the lower floor to the higher floor or to exhaust the air to cause the contraction of the airbag to move from the higher floor to the lower floor, Thus, the wheelchair user can freely move across steps without help. |
