PRODUCTION OF HYDRAULIC POWDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a coal ash and contribute to the protection of global environment and resource recycling by mixing the coal ash with a quick lime and carrying out a mechanochemical treatment. SOLUTION: A coal ash is suitably mixed with a quick lime and the time for a mechanochemical treatment is regulated to a required minimum time or more according to a pulverizer used. The mechanochemical treatment is conveniently performed by using a high-energy pulverizer. The coal ash is classified into a fine powdery ash (fly ash: 85-95%) collected from a waste gas with an electrical dust precipitator and a relatively coarse granular ash recovered from a boiler bottom (clinker ash: 5-15%). The development of a new effective utilization of the fly ash is aimed herein. For example, two pots having 50 cc capacity are prepared and a planetary mill filled with 7 balls having 15 mm diameter and made of stainless steel is used to treat 3 g of the mixed powder containing 40% of CaO at 70 mm revolution radius and 700 r.p.m. rotational speed for >=15 min.
