TREATMENT OF PLASTIC WASTE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating plastic wastes enabling a molten plastic of good-quality to be subjected to oil conversion process through discharging and removing non-hydrocarbon-based plastics in the upstream step of the pyrolytic oil conversion process. SOLUTION: This method for treating plastic wastes comprises the following two processes: (1) dissolution and fracticnation process: plastic wastes are contacted with a fractionating solvent in a dissolution/fractionation tank 11 to selectively dissolve solubles in the wastes in the solvent and polyvinyl chloride-based polymers in the wastes are subjected to melt dechlorination treatment and the hydrogen chloride gas thus produced is removed, and residues is separated by sedimentation from the resultant mixed liquid, and (2) pyrolysis process: the melt obtained in the above process is pyrolyzed in a relevant tank 12 to afford pyrolyzed oil.
