<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To put a polymeric flocculant to new preservation of the environment by safely treating a polymeric material containing acrylonitrile as a monomer to impart hydrophilicity to the treated material and using the obtained product in water treatment as the polymeric flocculant. SOLUTION: An intermolecular crosslinked structure is introduced into a polymeric material having a cyano group, and an amino compd. is further added thereto to convert at least a part of the cyano group (-C=N) to a molecular structure part having an imidamino structure to obtain a polymeric flocculant having a high mol.wt. Especially, if a used waste material after used for other purpose is used as the polymeric material as a raw material, the effective utilization of resources by recycling becomes possible and this method is extremely useful from an aspect of preservation of the environment.</p> |
