<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily bring both sectional area and length of a passage for communicating a plenum chamber with a resonator, in addition to the capacity of the resonator tank designed to aim at the improvement of the torque characteristics of an engine to an optimum value and to manufacture products on mass production basis to the same specification as a prototype. SOLUTION: This intake manifold is provided with an aluminum-made plenum chamber 1 having an intake inlet and a plurality of intake outlets, a plurality of aluminum-made branch pipes connected to each intake outlet of the plenum chamber 1, and a resonator tank 7 communicated with the plenum chamber 1. The plenum chamber 1 is communicated with the resonator tank 7 via a communicating pipe 23 made of aluminum expanded material. The side-end part on the resonator tank 7 of the communicating pipe 23 is connected to the resonator tank 7, with the side-end part inserted into the resonator tank by a prescribed length.</p> |
