SOLUTION: An apparatus for monitoring and controlling a water content of a printing sheet 10 in a printer having a drying step, a folding step and the like comprises a water content monitoring device of a printing sheet having a measuring unit A21 for measuring a water content immediately before printing, a sheet moistening unit 17 after the drying step, a measuring unit B22 for measuring a water content immediately after moistening, a means for comparing a water content value of a sheet immediately after the printing with a predetermined threshold value level to decide and generating an alarm, and the like, and a water content controller having a means for comparing a difference between the water content value immediately before the printing and the water content value after the moistening with a predetermined threshold value level to regulate a dampening amount of the unit 17 and the like. |
