There are disclosed isoquinolines of the general formula (I), wherein R is ethyl or n-propyl, and their esters with alkanoic acids having from 1 to 4 carbons or with benzoic acid, and addition salts of these isoquinolines and their esters with acids. Said isoquinolines, esters as well as the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts are useful as pharmaceuticals, e.g. for asthma therapy. There further disclosed a process for the preparation of these compounds and pharmaceuticals them containing.
