Curable molding material and method for producing molded article

A molding material in a semi-cured state which is obtainable by reacting a metathesis-polymerizable cycloolefin in the presence of a metathesis polymerization catalyst, and a method for producing a molded article comprising introducing the molding material into a mold while maintaining a semi-cured state thereof and curing the material in the mold, to thereby produce a molded article of a predetermined shape. The present invention enables an easy production of a molded article from a metathesis-polymerizable cycloolefin in the atmosphere (normal, untreated air) by means of various conventional molding machines.
