<p>There are disclosed N-(3-fluoro-2-phosphonylmethoxypropyl) derivatives of purine and pyrimidine heterocyclic bases having the general formula (I), wherein B is a cytosin-1-yl residual of the formula (II), or, B represents represents a substituted purin-9-yl or pyrimidin-1-yl residual of a purine heterocyclic base having the general formula (IV): where R4 and R5 denote hydrogen, an amino group, an azido group, halogen, X is a -N= or -CH= group and an absolute configuration at a carbon atom C2 is S, R or RS. These compounds are obtained by the reaction of the N-(3-fluoro-2-hydroxypropyl) derivatives of purine and pyrimidine heterocyclic bases with dialkyl esters of p-toluenesulfonyloxymethylphosphonic acid in the presence of sodium hydride. The compounds are used for the suppression of multiplication of viruses, particularly retroviruses.</p> |
