PURPOSE:To prevent image quality from being deteriorated and separating performance from being lowered by impressing voltage corresponding to an electric resistance value based on temperature and humidity on a separating roller. CONSTITUTION:While transfer paper P carried by a resist roller pair 18 comes into contact with the surface of a photoreceptor 2, corona discharge with a reverse polarity to that of electrostatically charged toner adhering to the photoreceptor 2 is performed to the back surface of the transfer paper P by a corona discharger for transfer 8, and the electrostatically charged toner adhering to the photoreceptor 2 is electrostatically transferred to the surface of the transfer paper P. The transfer paper P to which a toner image is transferred is separated from the surface of the photoreceptor 2 by the separation device 10. The device 10 is provided with the separating roller 110, a voltage applying means 120 applying separation voltage including an AC component on the roller 110, a roller temperature detecting means 130 detecting the temperature of the roller 110, and a roller humidity detecting means 140 detecting the humidity of the roller 110; and the voltage applying means 120 is controlled by a control means 150 based on the detection signal of the detecting means 130 and 140. |
