PURPOSE:To make a suspension tower unnecessary and to improve space efficiency, by a method wherein a stationary external cylinder is fixed to a car body so that toothed parts of the external cylinder gear with those of a suspension device and a highly granular liquid is enclosed within the external cylinder, in the shock absorber of a torsion bar suspension device. CONSTITUTION:Torsion is generated on a torsion bar 22 through vertical movement of an axle and a trailing arm by the vibration of a wheel during running. In this instance, as for the inside of an external cylinder 14 on the external circumference of a shock absorber 11, toothed parts 12 of the torsion bar 22 are reciprocated among toothed parts 13 of the external cylinder 14. In this instance, a highly viscous liquid 15 is moved through a duct 13a between toothed parts 12, 13. Reciprocation, therefore, of the toothed parts 12 is resisted through which attenuation force is made to act upon the torsional vibration of the torsion bar 22. With this construction, a suspension tower becomes unnecessary and space efficiency can be improved. |
