Detection units (D), monitoring vehicle systems such as low brake fluid pressure or incomplete door closure, are monitored by an electronic unit (3) controlling visual and audible alarm emitters (2) on the instrument panel (1). The audible level of the alarm is proportional to the levels of engine noise, cabin noise or the volume of the car stereo (8,9). These parameters can be obtained from a microphone (4), the engine rev counter or combinations of suitable sensors/feedback systems. |
