The workbench has a frame (10) with a location chamber (17) which has an opening (18). Two threaded rods (20) are rotatably fixed on the frame and a fixed tabletop (21) can be mounted on then frame. The threaded rods have moveable bearings so that a movable table top can be attached and be shifted forwards and backwards. Two handles (27) can be used to turn the rods and adjust the position of the movable table. A toolbox is mounted in the chamber such that it can be removed through the opening.
