Following established practice, as the door closes a hasp-bar fixed on the frame enters a bay in the bolt-plate, which rotates, trapping the bar, till a catch (5) secures it. To release the door, the catch is disengaged either by a link (29) connected to the interior handle (24), or another link (38) connected via a lever (33) to the exterior handle (35). However, the latter is only effective if the drive link (38) is aligned with a projection (13) on the catch.- DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Alignment is effected or annulled (i.e., the door is unlocked or locked) by a peg (20b) on a wheel (20) rotated either by the local central locking motor (21) or by a lever (40) actuated (40a) by the conventional lock barrel, bearing on another peg (20c). A pivoted lever (31), accessible in the door edge, displaces (30) the interior opening link (29), in one direction, out of alignment with the catch tag (13), for childproof locking, in the other, to prevent exterior opening during electrical failure emergencies; no interior locking buttons being provided |
