PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save a communication cost of a caller whose call is received by the communication device set in the automatic answering mode. SOLUTION: When a telephone set 3a, which is set to the automatic answering mode, has detected the arrival of an incoming call, the telephone set 3a gives a received caller number to a control circuit 7. Upon the receipt of the caller number, the control circuit 7 retrieves caller numbers stored in an incoming call recording table 81 in a memory 8, discriminates whether or not the same telephone number as the received caller number is stored in the table 81. When the same telephone number as the received caller number is stored in the incoming call recording table 81, the control circuit 7 discriminates it that the same caller has made a call before and interrupts the line without replying the incoming call.
