INFORMATION MANAGEMENT METHOD FOR ATM COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, LIST STRUCTURE CONTROL METHOD, BUFFER ADDRESS MANAGEMENT METHOD AND THEIR SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the management method for channel information table and the system where a period for maintenance processing is ensured in addition to pass processing even in the case that the cell arrival interval is reduced. SOLUTION: ATM cells arrived at a prescribed time interval are stored in a buffer memory 21. Information required for the pass processing is stored in a channel table memory 13 and an update means 15 applies passing processing to the ATM cells stored in the buffer memory 21. A maintenance management means 18 applies maintenance management to the information in the channel table memory 13. A control means 12 allows the update means to conduct passing processing for the ATM cells stored in the buffer memory 21 arrived sequentially by a shorter processing time than the prescribed time interval in the order of the arrival and allows the buffer memory 21 to consume the wait time till the passing processing is started for the cell. When a difference between the prescribed time interval and the processing time is accumulated and reaches a time required for the maintenance processing, the control means 21 allows the maintenance management means to conduct maintenance processing.
