PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car navigation system capable of simplifying operation by reducing the number of times of shift switch operation. SOLUTION: In a car navigation system for selecting any item out of a menu 10 having plural columns of plural items, this system has an upper left to lower right shifting means for shifting a selected item to the right end of the lowest line by inputting a left key data when the selected item is located at the left end of the top line, and a lower right to upper left shifting means for shifting the selected item to the left end of the top line by inputting a right key data when the selected item is located at the right end of the lowest line.
