ANTIMICROBIAL SPECTACLE FRAME AND ITS RESIN PARTS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a spectacle frame having high antimicrobial properties by constituting the spectacle frame of an antimicrobial resin having a quaternary phosphonium salt-contg. polymer obtd. by polymerizing a monomer of a quaternary phosphonium salt within the molecule on at least its surface. SOLUTION: Part or the whole of the antimicrobial spectacle frame is composed of the antimicrobial resin having the quaternary phosphonium salt-contg. polymer obtd. by polymerizing the monomer of the quaternary phosphonium salt within the molecule on at least its surface. Rims 2 holding lenses of the spectacle frame 1 are connected by a bridge 3 and temples 5 are foldably connected via hinges to wraparound endpieces 4 brazed to the outer side of the rims 2. Pads 7 for nose mounted via pad arms 6 to the inner side of the rims 2 and the front ends of the temples 5 are coated with ear bends 8. The pads 7 for nose the ear bends 8 are composed of the antimicrobial resin. These parts are resin parts which come into contact with the skin at all times and the requirements for their antimicrobial properties and safety are high. These parts are highly significant in terms thereof.
