PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor the states of batteries in a wide range and increase the safety of a battery pack, by supplying power to a voltage regulator from either a secondary battery or a charger that has the higher voltage. SOLUTION: In a battery state monitoring circuit 18 which has a built-in voltage regulator 1, a voltage regulator is supplied with power from either secondary batteries 6-9 or a charger 17 that has the higher voltage. When the output voltage of the voltage regulator 1 becomes low, a voltage detecting circuit for sending out a signal to a microcomputer 5 is added to the circuit. By this method, constant voltage can be surely supplied to the microcomputer 5 and the runaway of the microcomputer 5 can be prevented. Furthermore, the operating range of the microcomputer 5 is widened and therefore the safety of the battery pack can be increased and the state of the batteries can be reliably monitored.
|
