<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for confirming lubricant of a vehicle mounted in which injection of a specified quantity or more of lubricant into the vehicle mounted unit can be confirmed under a state where the unit is assembled into a vehicle. SOLUTION: When lubricant 16 is not injected into a differential 10, ultrasonic wave transmitted from a probe 12 is reflected by the inner wall face of a differential case 10a and the probe 12 receives much reflected wave. When lubricant 16 is injected into the differential 10, ultrasonic wave transmitted from the probe 12 propagates through the lubricant 16 to reach an inner component 14 where the ultrasonic wave is scattered and diffracted in many directions and thereby the probe 12 can receive only a part of reflected wave. The received reflected wave is integrated within a specified range and compared with a preset value and if the integrated value is lower than a decision value, a decision is made that a specified quantity of lubricant 16 has been injected.</p> |
