PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car navigation system which allows a driver to check the condition of the road in front of the car even if watching the screen of an image display part when driving, so that safe drive can be ensured. SOLUTION: A car navigation system is designed so that a navigating information image in which the position of a car, its direction, speed, road information, and the like obtained by means of a sensor part 5 are superimposed on map information and displayed, or a video image or a television image, is projected on an image display part 4. The car navigation system is provided with a CCD camera 6 for taking an image of the road in front of a car body, and the image of the road in front of the car body is displayed on the image display part 4 as a slave screen. Even if the driver views the navigating information screen such as the map on the image display part 4 when driving, the slave screen on the image display part 4 allows checking the condition of the road in front of the car and therefore safe drive can be ensured. |
