PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent screen forming method for a cathode-ray tube whereby high brightness and excellent resolution are obtained. SOLUTION: Electorlytic solution is put in a bulb previously, and thereto a suspension coating a phosphor and binder is added, and upon precipitation of phosphor, the supernatent is removed, and then a phosphor layer 6 attached to the inner surface of a face panel 1 is dried. In this fluorescent screen forming method for a cathode-rat tube, the internal pressure of the bulb 4 is heightened after removal of the supernatent to pressurize the phosphor layer by increasing the pressure inside of the bulb 4 before drying so that a thickness of 10-30μm is obtained.
