PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight and improve the high-temperature insulating characteristic by setting the substantial average thickness of mica flakes which constitute the reconstituted mica part of a fire-resisting insulating layer to a specified value or less. SOLUTION: A reconstituted mica tape 1 used for a fire-resisting wire comprises a reconstituted mica part 2 formed by making mica flakes 3 obtained by crushing natural or synthetic mica into a sheet and a reinforcing material 4, such as glass cloth stuck to the lower surface thereof, through an adhesive 5 such as silicone resin. A thickness (h) of the reconstituted mica part 2 is about 65 μm, a thickness h2 of the reinforcing material 4 such as glass cloth is about 35 μm, and a thickness H of the reconstituted mica tape 1 consequently becomes about 100 μm, so that the reconstituted mica tape can be made considerably thin. The mica flakes 3 are crushed by the use of a sharply fine crushable crusher, and the average grain size substantially becomes 120 μm. The substantial average thickness of the mica flake 3 is set to 0.1-2 μm, in other words, is set to 2 μm or less. |
